Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ½ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- ½ cup brandy
- 750 ml bottle red wine or white wine
- 2 cups fresh fruit such as citrus slices, berries, peaches, apples, etc.
- Ice
- Sparkling water or ginger ale, to taste
Instructions
- In a quart-sized pitcher, combine the sugar, orange juice, and brandy, stirring for about 1 minute until the sugar dissolves.
- Pour in the red or white wine along with the fresh fruit, stirring until everything is well mixed.
- Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, preferably up to 12 hours. If chilling for longer, consider adding the fruit closer to serving time to prevent discoloration.
- Serve the sangria over ice and add sparkling water or ginger ale to taste.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider using a flavored brandy or liqueur.
You can customize the fruit based on what’s in season or your personal preference.
The longer you chill the sangria, the more the flavors will meld.
