Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup diced fresh strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon rose water
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream

Instructions

  1. Combine the diced strawberries, water, and honey in a small saucepan.
  2. Cook the mixture until it boils, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 1 minute. Skim off any foam that appears, then remove from heat.
  3. Allow the strawberry mixture to cool to room temperature. Use a fork to mash the berries, or blend them in a food processor for a smooth sauce.
  4. Mix in the rose water until incorporated.
  5. Serve the strawberry sauce over scoops of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use ripe strawberries.
You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a different sweetness profile.
