  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup (240 g) whole milk
  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups (280 g) fresh or frozen blackberries
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons turbinado sugar


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt, whisking together well.
  3. Gradually add the milk, then mix in the melted butter until the batter is smooth and fully combined.
  4. Pour the batter into a 10-inch cast-iron skillet or a similar baking dish.
  5. In another bowl, mix the blackberries, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon, tossing gently to coat the berries.
  6. Spoon the blackberry mixture evenly over the batter without stirring it.
  7. Sprinkle turbinado sugar over the top for added crunch.
  8. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is fully set.
  9. Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a unique twist, try using raspberries or blueberries in place of blackberries.
