Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (two sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Cream together the softened butter and both sugars in a mixer until fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, salt, vanilla extract, and baking powder until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time. If the dough is greasy, incorporate up to 1/4 cup more flour as required.
- Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips.
- Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/4 inch between two sheets of parchment paper and chill for 30 minutes.
- Cut the dough into your desired shapes and place them on a lined baking sheet; chill again before baking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 7-9 minutes, ensuring they are removed before the edges turn brown.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
Chilling the dough helps to enhance the texture of the cookies.
Be careful not to overbake; the cookies will continue to firm up as they cool.
