  • 4 oz baking chocolate
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13-inch pan with foil and spray it with cooking spray.
  2. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the baking chocolate and butter. Microwave on HIGH for 2-3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Stir in sugar.
  3. Add the eggs, vanilla, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, ¾ teaspoon of cayenne, salt, and 2 tablespoons of cocoa, mixing well.
  4. Gently incorporate the flour, then fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  5. Spread the brownie batter into your prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few crumbs. Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing into squares.
  6. Whisk together powdered sugar, ¼ teaspoon cocoa, ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Sprinkle this mixture over the sliced brownies.

Notes

For a richer chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet baking chocolate.
Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
